LNG is a clean natural gas

The end product of the Australia Pacific LNG Project is liquefied natural gas.

The popularity and use of natural gas has increased dramatically over the past 50 years as pipeline infrastructure has been installed to deliver it conveniently and economically to millions of residential, commercial and industrial customers worldwide.

The process of turning CSG into LNG is relatively easy to understand. First, the gas is cooled to the point that the gas becomes liquid (about minus 161 degrees celcius). The liquid is then loaded onto an LNG tanker and shipped offshore where it is delivered to a LNG re-gasification terminal. At the terminal, the liquid is heated and turned back into gas.

Why natural gas is the clean fuel of choice

Natural gas is one of the safest and cleanest fuels available. It emits less pollution than other fossil fuels. When natural gas is burned, it produces mostly carbon dioxide and water vapour – the same substances emitted when you exhale. Compared with other fossil fuels, natural gas emits the least amount of carbon dioxide into the air when combusted – making natural gas the cleanest burning fossil fuel available.
