China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) is an energy and petrochemical company with an integrated business value chain. The company’s major business activities include: exploration, production, storage, transportation and trade oil and natural gas, oil refining, production, transportation, trade, distribution and sales of refined products as well as the production, distribution and trade of petrochemical products.

Sinopec joined the Australia Pacific LNG Project in April 2011 as both the foundation customer and part-equity owner. Sinopec's acquisition of equity is subject to the approval of the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board and the Chinese government.
