APLNG
Origin and ConocoPhillips are joint owners of Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG).
This is a 50:50 joint venture to deliver a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) Project located in Queensland.
Two experienced companies join forces
Australia Pacific LNG draws on the extensive experience of Origin, the largest integrated energy company operating across Australia and New Zealand, and US company ConocoPhillips, which has assets and operations in nearly 40 countries.
Australia Pacific LNG has the financial and technical support of Origin and ConocoPhillips which bring leading expertise in coal seam gas and liquefied natural gas technologies.
The Australia Pacific LNG Project will use Origin’s world-class CSG reserves in Queensland and ConocoPhillips’ proven Cascade© LNG technology that is well-suited to a CSG application.
Australia Pacific LNG is already the largest producer of CSG in Australia, supplying residential and commercial customers and expects to significantly increase its domestic gas production to supply Origin’s gas-fired power generation plants and major industrial customers.
ConocoPhillips is the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States, and has more than 25 years of working experience with CSG as well as being the largest producer of CSG in the United States.
ConocoPhillips also has a proven track record in the delivery of LNG projects internationally and in Australia.
Australia Pacific LNG will produce coal seam gas for commercial markets both locally and overseas.
This Project will involve the further development of Australia Pacific LNG’s CSG fields to supply an LNG plant, creating a major new export industry in Queensland.
