Consulting communities is very important. Australia Pacific LNG is committed to respecting the rights and interests of individual citizens, relevant organisations and the communities in the areas in which the Australia Pacific LNG Project will operate.
As part of the procedure for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), local communities have the opportunity to comment about the Project at two critical points during the evaluation process. These are at the release of the EIS terms of reference and Draft EIS report. However, Australia Pacific LNG is keen to hear from you at any time.
How will the consultation be carried out?
Australia Pacific LNG is using a range of two-way communication tools to both inform and gain feedback from communities, into the EIS process. These will include using a variety of methods:
- Public meetings and/or information days
- One-on-one meetings
- Dedicated Liaison Officer
- Media (print, radio, TV and internet)
- Community liaison groups
