IFS Process

On the 10th March 2010, Australia Pacific LNG applied to the Coordinator-General seeking approval for declaration of the Australia Pacific LNG project as an “infrastructure facility of significance” under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971.

The infrastructure facilities for the Project include:

  • Design, construction and operation of a high pressure underground gas transmission pipeline system (approximately 450km) from the gas fields to Curtis Island near Gladstone; and
  • A LNG facility on Curtis Island near Gladstone and ancillary onshore and marine facilities.

The Project needs to secure suitable land tenure. It is important to note that Australia Pacific LNG is committed to negotiating an agreement with all landowners.

Government is contacting landowners

The State Government is currently advising landowners and communities along the proposed infrastructure corridors of Australia Pacific LNG’s application for approval of the Project as an infrastructure facility of significance via letter and public notices which will appear in the Courier Mail and a number of regional Queensland papers during the consultation process.
